A dedicated serviceman and a Marine veteran of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Kramer was a highly decorated soldier with the North Carolina National Guard. Among his commendations are the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge, reflecting his bravery and service.

Ed Kramer, also a devoted firefighter with Sunny Point Fire Rescue during his time stateside, balanced his professional duties with a deep love for his family.
