  1. Hello CVB,

Thank you for the information from the bulletin. I do have a question though. It may just be my journalism or teaching background, but is there any way to get people to write the date correctly in their postings? There is no need for a “-th or -rd or-st” when writing the full date correctly. It is July 4, 2023, not July 4th, 2023.

    American English
    · February 1, 2023
    · Feb. 1, 2023
    · 2/1/23 or 2-1-23
    · Wednesday, February 1, 2023
    · February 1st
    · 1st of February

    Thank you!

    Respectfully Submitted,

    1. CVB fully supports the freedom of Veterans to write in their own words and at their level of grammar. CVB has no intention now or in the future to instruct grammar to members regarding flyer images or associated text submitted for publication.

There are however circumstances where CVB intervention occurs regarding grammar. In the event that grammar is confusing and will mislead it’s intended audience, CVB Editorial Staff intervention occurs. When necessary, CVB Editorial Staff do their best to make minimal edits in the text portion to prevent possible confusion. When a date format is not grammatically correct, in a given flyer image, yet can be made sense of it is permitted. When an error is adequate to provide the correct information it requires no intervention.

CVB uses this approach as not to discourage anyone from sharing information.
