YOUR HELP AND ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED

For the Flag retrieval of approximately 13,000 flags that were placed on the final resting place of our Veterans at the Middletown CT. State Veterans Cemetery for storage and future use is ON SATURDAY, JUNE 1ST  starting at 9:00am.

Your help and assistance is needed to accomplish this so that we will be able to preserve these Flags for usage to Honor those who served and are no longer with us.

Youth groups are especially welcome to assist us in the retrieval of the flags.

Please pass along this request to friends, family, Youth Groups, and Organizations you belong to for them to help us .

In the past we have had a great turnout and hope this continues from the Community

ALSO, donations will be collected for Wreaths Across America Wreaths that will be placed in December.  Last year we met our goal of Remembrance Wreaths that were available to be placed on the final resting place of those Veterans allowed to receive one.

The cost of purchasing a Wreath is $17.00 per Wreath. Donations collected will be used to purchase the buy two (2) and receive a third Wreath free.

You can click on the link below and you will be able to make a donation directly to make our goal.  If unable to click the link, copy it and paste it into your browser and it will take you directly to the donation page for the Wreaths for the CT. Veterans Cemetery in Middletown located on Bow Lane.  This is a direct link that will ensure your donation will go directly to the Middletown Veterans Cemetery or with your cell phone use the QR code.

Irreverent Warriors Connecticut Silkies Hike

Irreverent Warriors Connecticut Silkies Hike

Irreverent Warriors Connecticut Silkies Hike

Irreverent Warriors events create a network of enduring support by communicating the message: “Your existence matters.”

HEALING THROUGH HUMOR

IRREVERENT: -ir-rev-er-ent-adj. an inability to take serious things seriously. Veterans operate differently than most others in the face of tragedy or adversity in that they are more likely to use humor and camaraderie as a coping mechanism.

SILKIES HIKE EVENT

SILKIES HIKES ARE FOR VETERANS, ACTIVE DUTY, NATIONAL GUARD AND RESERVISTS ONLY: IW Silkies Hikes are a series of therapeutic events that are designed to PREVENT veteran suicide by bringing veterans together using humor and camaraderie to improve mental health. In order to create and maintain this environment of support and understanding, civilians are not allowed to hike.

NO MINORS. CIVILIANS, OR STROLLERS

THIS IS NOT AN ATHLETIC EVENT: The hikes are between 4-10 miles, paced at 2-3 miles per hour. There are frequent stops for fellowship and food/beverages, and rucks, weight, and boots are optional.
