Cemetery Preservation Workshop – Free
Join the East Haddam/Moodus VFW Post 3336 ‘Cemetery Troopers’ for a free, hands-on gravestone care workshop at Moodus Cemetery (North Moodus Rd) on Saturday, May 3, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. (Rain date: May 4). Learn proper techniques for cleaning, resetting, and repairing gravestones. Pizza lunch provided. Dress for hands-on work.

About the Cemetery Troopers:
Formed by VFW Post 3336, the group identified 233 previously overlooked veterans in local cemeteries and ensured they are honored with flags. Their mission expanded to restoring damaged veteran gravestones, having cleaned 100+, reset 50+, and repaired 28 across 9 cemeteries—with more work to do.

Join us Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the CT State Veterans Cemetery on Bow Lane in Middletown to help place 13,000 American flags in honor of our fallen Veterans.
Flag retrieval is Saturday, May 31 at 9:00 AM, weather permitting.
Everyone is welcome—veteran groups, scouts, youth and community organizations—to show these sacrifices are not forgotten. No registration needed; just arrive by 9:00 AM, rain or shine.
Memorial Day Ceremony:
May 26 at 2:00 PM.
