Today, we remember and honor the life of Staff Sgt. Alexandria Mae Morrow, who devoted herself to her family, community, and country with unwavering dedication. Born in Dansville, New York, Alexandria quickly grew into a compassionate and driven young woman. She went on to serve in the United States Air Force for seven years, proudly representing her family, friends, and fellow service members with remarkable commitment.
Alexandria, affectionately known as “Mother Alex” by her fellow airmen, had a way of making others feel supported, blending professionalism with her natural warmth. While stationed with the 366th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, Alexandria’s expertise and leadership as a weapons loader became evident. Her deployment to the 322nd Air Expeditionary Wing highlighted her skill and resilience. In just a few months, her hard work and attention to detail set combat records and left a lasting impact on her team.
In March 2017, while stationed in Jordan in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, Alexandria tragically lost her life during a maintenance operation. Though her passing was a devastating loss, her memory and influence continue to uplift and inspire all who knew her. Col. Jefferson O’Donnell, her wing commander, praised her leadership and passion, recognizing the profound effect she had on her squadron.
Beyond her military service, Alexandria was a devoted mother to her two young daughters and a cherished wife and friend. Her kindness touched countless lives, and the depth of love and respect she inspired was evident in the outpouring of support following her passing.
Today, on her birthday, we honor Alexandria’s spirit—a compassionate leader, a loving mother, and a dedicated Air Force servicewoman. Her legacy continues to shine, reflecting the courage and compassion she brought into this world.
