William B. Hodge, 70, of Moodus, passed away on November 14, 2019, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Middletown, he was the beloved husband of Eileen (Totz) Hodge and the son of the late Burdette and Queria Hodge.

Bill’s life was distinguished by dedication and passion. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Independence. After his military service, Bill spent 38 years working as a boiler technician at Pratt and Whitney before retiring. His commitment to his work was matched by his love for motorcycle adventures, including memorable trips to Sturgis and Daytona with friends.

In addition to his wife Eileen, Bill was survived by his children: Lori and Dan Woodworth of East Haddam, Mary and Steve Heim of Massachusetts, and Thomas Hodge of Norwich. He was also remembered by his brother James Hodge of Middletown, his sister Queria Berry of Cromwell, and his six cherished grandchildren: Jake, Kira, Emily, Megan, Jonathan, and Madeline.

A funeral service to honor Bill’s life was held on Tuesday, November 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, followed by burial at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Friends and family gathered on Monday, November 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were made to the VFW Post , American Legion Post , or a local animal shelter.
