April 17, 1944 – February 2, 2022
Today, we celebrate the life of Peter F. Aldo, a man whose legacy of service, love, and dedication continues to inspire those who knew him. Born on April 17, 1944, in Derby, Connecticut, Peter’s life was marked by unwavering devotion to his country, his community, and his family.
Peter served proudly as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War, exemplifying the courage and commitment that defined his character. His service to his country was matched by a distinguished career as a Mechanical Engineer with the US Postal Service, where he worked for over 35 years, demonstrating an unparalleled work ethic and passion for his craft.

In his community, Peter was known for his involvement with the American Legion Sutter-Terlizzi Post 16 and the Czecho Club in Shelton. His heart for service extended beyond his professional and military duties, as he gave his time and energy to coaching youth sports, sharing his love for the NY Giants and NY Yankees with a new generation. His guidance and leadership were felt on the field, but his true impact came from the kindness and positivity he brought to every life he touched.
Above all, Peter’s love for his family was his greatest joy. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his wife of 46 years, Mariette, their children Jacqueline and Peter Jr. (with wife Laura), and his cherished grandchildren Gabriella, Madeleine, and Ethan. He is also fondly remembered by his siblings Andrew, Marie, and Grace, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Peter’s memory is a source of comfort and strength to all who knew him. Today, as we remember his life and the love he shared, we are reminded that his spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. Peter, you are deeply missed but will forever be remembered.
