Somers Veterans Coffee House
The Somers Veterans Coffee House will host Nicolle Wargo-Boswell, Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Pursuing Hope Counseling, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Somers Town Hall Auditorium, 600 Main Street, Somers, CT.
Wargo-Boswell, with over a decade of clinical experience and strong military family ties, will present on Low Energy Neurofeedback (LENS) Therapy, a non-invasive treatment effective for PTSD, TBI, anxiety, and sleep issues common among veterans.
Announcements begin at 9:00 AM, followed by a 45-minute presentation and Q&A. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free, and veterans may bring one guest.

- Joseph Caminiti: WWII Marine Corps veteran (3rd MarDiv, Battles of Guam & Iwo Jima), 100 years old, Bristol, CT resident, and daily gym-goer.
- Neal Supranovich: U.S. Navy veteran, American Legion Post 2 (Bristol) member, and local veterans’ event organizer.
- Chandler Clark: U.S. Marine veteran who trained on Iwo Jima in 2015 at age 19, offering a modern perspective.

Salute to Bristol Hospital & Our WWII Nurses
Join the Memorial Military Museum on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 1–3 PM for a powerful presentation honoring Bristol’s WWII-era nurses. In the 1920s, Bristol Hospital’s small nursing school trained 55 women who later served bravely in the Army and Navy Nurse Corps. Hear the inspiring stories of Sally Hitchcock, who left Bristol to serve on the frontlines, and Ada Clarke, the only known female civilian POW from Bristol, captured by the Japanese Army.
Doors open at 10 AM with full access to all galleries. Refreshments will be served. Free admission; donations appreciated.

I am proud to announce that New London’s Historic VFW Post 189 will be outside on May 4th helping our community once again. We will be cleaning up a portion of Jefferson Ave (1 mile). We are asking for community support with participation and/or donations. Donated Items that will be needed to support this mission are:

3) Eye Protection
4) Contractor Trash Bags
