Staff Sergeant Spencer H. Weis, a cherished son, brother, and friend, was remembered fondly for his kindness, generosity, and dedication to his country and community. Born on November 13, 1997, in Bristol, Connecticut, Spencer was the beloved son of Norman and Nancy (Stone) Weis. He passed away on February 4, 2023, at the age of 25, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, service, and warmth that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.

Spencer’s life was filled with purpose and a strong commitment to helping others. A 2015 graduate of Wolcott High School, he made an early impact with his caring nature and dedication. Spencer chose a path of service, joining the United States Army as a Human Resources Specialist, where he brought his selfless spirit to his role. In 2020, he deployed with the HHC 192nd Military Police Company and served with the ALOC platoon, earning respect for his professionalism and unwavering support to his fellow soldiers.

Spencer’s heart of gold was apparent to all who crossed his path. Known for his generosity and kindness, he was always quick to offer a helping hand and was involved in his community from a young age. A former member of the Boy Scouts of America, he went on to become an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 231, sharing his knowledge and compassion with younger scouts, embodying the values of leadership, integrity, and service.

Outside of his military and community roles, Spencer enjoyed reading, exploring the outdoors on his quad, and engaging in paintball and airsoft. His adventurous spirit and love for life left an indelible mark on his family and friends, who fondly recall the joy and laughter he brought to every gathering.

Spencer is survived by his loving family, including his father, Norman; his six devoted sisters—Natalie Haber of Plainville, Nicole Collin of Canton, Chelsea Weis of Harwinton, Shawnna Weis of Idaho, his twin sister Riley Weis of Wolcott, and Hailey Deschamps of Bristol; and his grandmother Nancy Weis of Burlington. He is also remembered fondly by his maternal grandparents, George and Joan Stone of Florida; four nieces, a nephew, three uncles, and three aunts. His mother, Nancy Weis, and grandfather, Donald Weis, predeceased him, and they are remembered together with Spencer in the hearts of all who loved them.

A Celebration of Life Service with full military honors was held on February 13, 2023, at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home in Waterbury, Connecticut, where family, friends, and fellow service members gathered to honor Spencer’s life and legacy. His enduring kindness, sense of duty, and dedication to his loved ones will forever serve as an inspiration.

Spencer’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, as a beacon of love, strength, and dedication to both his community and his country. He is remembered as a true hero, whose memory will be cherished always by his family, friends, and those who had the privilege of knowing him.
