On a recent December morning, dogs and their handlers from the US Army Connecticut National Guard, 928 Military Police Detachment, demonstrated their skills for a group of interested Newtown residents at the Connecticut National Guard facility at Fairfield Hills, Newtown, CT.

Three events in January provide opportunities to get involved in meaningful ways with the American Legion.

(NEWTOWN, CT) – In January, two family-friendly events and a community program will “create hope” and support our Armed Services members and Veterans. The community is invited on two dates to join the American Legion, Post 202 (serving Newtown and Brookfield) and Hearts of Hope (Newtown) in painting and decorating Hearts of Hope gifts for our military troops, military dogs, and canine handlers. Each participant will create a message of caring and compassion to accompany the heart they design.
