He served with the Headquarters Troop, 1st Squad, 14th Armored Cavalry in Germany, where he was a clerk typist. His service was a testament to his unwavering dedication and expertise.

Following his active duty, Ron embarked on a successful career with the Xerox Company as a copier technician. However, his professional achievements were just one facet of his remarkable life. Ron was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Carol (Chalker) Organek, and a loving father to his children, Scott Organek and Karen Organek. He cherished his granddaughter, Madison, and was a beloved brother to William Organek and Barbara Hetrick.

Ron’s love for his community was evident in his numerous contributions and activities. He was the founder and first president of the Greater Middletown Military Museum, a lasting testament to his dedication to honoring veterans. The museum, located on Ronald L. Organek Way, stands as a tribute to his tireless efforts and passion for preserving military history.

In addition to his work with the museum, Ron was actively involved in veterans’ organizations throughout Connecticut. He was recognized with the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce William Pomfret Award for his outstanding community service. For over two decades, Ron hosted a cable television show and wrote a newspaper column called “Veterans Corner,” highlighting the accomplishments of local veterans and bringing their stories to light.

Ron was also deeply involved in the American Legion baseball program, where he made a significant impact on many young athletes. His stories, filled with humor and wisdom, brought joy to those around him, making him a cherished figure in his community.
