April 17, 1944 – February 2, 2022
We gather today to honor the memory of Peter F. Aldo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on April 17, 1944, in Derby, Connecticut, Peter’s life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his community.
A proud Vietnam War veteran, Peter served his country with honor in the United States Army. His service was just one of many chapters in a life defined by purpose and selflessness. Following his military career, Peter dedicated over 35 years as a Mechanical Engineer with the US Postal Service, where his commitment to excellence was evident in everything he did.

Peter’s love for his community was equally profound. He was an active member of the American Legion Sutter-Terlizzi Post 16 and the Czecho Club in Shelton. His spirit of service extended beyond his work and community involvement, especially through his passion for coaching youth football and baseball. A true sports enthusiast, Peter’s love for the NY Giants and NY Yankees was only surpassed by his dedication to the young athletes he mentored.
Above all, Peter’s greatest joy came from his family. His enduring love for his wife of 46 years, Mariette, and their children, Jacqueline and Peter Jr. (with wife Laura), was at the heart of his life. His grandchildren—Gabriella, Madeleine, and Ethan—brought him immense pride, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Peter is also lovingly remembered by his siblings Andrew, Marie, and Grace, as well as his nieces and nephews.
As we reflect on Peter’s remarkable life, we are reminded of the kindness, positivity, and strength he shared with everyone he met. His memory lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Peter will forever be remembered and deeply missed, but his legacy of love and service continues to inspire us every day.
