The Windsor Locks Senior Center will be honoring local Veterans with a “Quilt of Valor” presentation caravan on Friday November 8th at 10AM
We are asking representatives from the community, as well as civic organizations to join us in a very special celebration honoring local Veterans. The caravan will depart from the Windsor Locks Town Hall parking lot at 10am sharp. Participants will follow the police escort to each home for presentation of the quilts.
We hope you will consider joining our patriotic caravan, wave your flag and show your red white and blue appreciation to our hometown heroes!

The RUCK takes place on a mixed surface trail at Janie Pierce Park in Southbury. The loop is roughly 1.25mi in length.

The Social Studies Department is hosting a Veterans Day Celebration on Monday, November 11th. We are reaching out to parents/grandparents of NHS students who served in any form of the military to invite them to attend the event that includes a luncheon starting at 10:45 am in the main gymnasium and an assembly that starts at 11:57 am in the auditorium at NHS. If you can join us on November 11th please follow the instructions on the flyer and kindly provide your students name and those family members who will be attending in the rsvp. If you can only attend one of the two events please just respond with the event you will attend and the branch of military you were a part of. All rsvps are due by Monday November 4th to gehrkenr@newtown.k12.ct.us. If you are joining us please bring a photo ID when you arrive on 11/11/24.

Hi, this is Jean Mariano and I am a Gold Star mother. My son was Jason Lewis, US Navy Seal who died in Iraq on July 6, 2007. I am also the location leader for Wreaths Across America and fundraise to put a wreath on every veterans grave at Center Cemetery new Milford Connecticut.
