Geoffrey Reynoso, a dedicated soldier and beloved member of the Putnam, CT community, passed away unexpectedly on August 15, 2019, at the age of 37 at Bay State Medical Center. Born on September 20, 1981, in New York, NY, Geoffrey was the son of Felix and Miriam (Mojica) Reynoso. He grew up in Putnam, CT, where he made lasting friendships and memories.

A graduate of Putnam High School’s Class of 2000, Geoffrey was known for his vibrant sense of humor and sociable nature. During his high school years, he was an active member of the Track Team, showcasing his dedication and athleticism.

In 2001, Geoffrey enlisted in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to serving his country. He joined the 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, known as the “Gimlets.” Initially assigned to Alpha Company, 3rd Platoon, he later served with Headquarters Company as the Command Sergeant Major’s vehicle commander. Geoffrey’s military career was marked by his bravery and dedication, and he was honorably discharged on December 31, 2005.

Throughout his service, Geoffrey was recognized with numerous awards, including the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Iraq Campaign Medal. These honors reflect his courage, commitment, and sacrifices made for his country.

Geoffrey’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his parents, Felix and Miriam; his sons, Logan Hidenfelter and Caleb Reynoso; his brother, Calvin Reynoso, and his wife Nicole, along with their children, Kingston and Ava; and his sister, Hannah M. Reynoso. He also leaves behind his paternal grandmother, Ysabel Reynoso, as well as uncles Rafael and Roger, aunt Vivian, and several cousins.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors was held on Friday, August 23, 2019, at The Connecticut Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, CT. To honor Geoffrey’s memory, donations can be made to Operation First Response or the Semper Fi Fund, reflecting his enduring spirit of service and support for fellow veterans.

Geoffrey Reynoso’s legacy is one of bravery, dedication, and love for his family and community. His memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his life stands as a testament to the values he held dear.
