Today, we honor the memory of Scott C. Hampton, who was born on October 10, 1962, in Manchester, Connecticut. As we celebrate what would have been his birthday, we reflect on the life of a man deeply committed to his family, his country, and his passions. Though Scott passed away four years ago, his legacy of love, service, and joy continues to inspire all who knew him.
Scott grew up in Tolland and graduated from Tolland High School, later answering the call to serve in the United States Air Force. His time in the military shaped his strong character and deep sense of duty, values that stayed with him throughout his life. As we remember him today, we celebrate not only his service but also the way he lived life to the fullest.
Scott was known for his love of the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing and hunting. His enthusiasm for these pursuits, along with his support of the NRA, reflected his deep connection to nature and his appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. Beyond that, he was a loyal sports fan who cheered passionately for the Raiders, UCONN Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, and the Boston Red Sox.
More than anything, Scott was a devoted family man. He shared a life full of love with his wife, Linda Hampton, and cherished his daughters Christine, Juliette, and Colleen. His grandchildren, Katie, Kyle, Allison, Sean, Dylan, Colin, and Jeremiah, as well as his great-grandson Nicholas, held a special place in his heart. His warmth and humor filled family gatherings with laughter and joy, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Though Scott is no longer with us, today, on his birthday, we celebrate the many ways he touched the lives of those around him. His love for his family, his dedication to his country, and his passion for life’s pursuits remain an inspiration.
Happy Birthday, Scott. Your memory lives on in all of us, and your spirit continues to brighten our days.
