Specialist Cindy Marie Beaudoin, born on July 20, 1971, exemplified courage and commitment throughout her life and service to her country. Raised in Plainfield, Connecticut, Cindy graduated from Plainfield High School before enlisting in the US Army National Guard, where she trained as a medical technician. Her journey took a pivotal turn when, during her first year at the University of Connecticut in 1990, she answered the call to serve in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield and the Gulf War with the 142nd Medical Company.
On February 28, 1991, tragedy struck as Cindy bravely sought to aid an injured soldier amidst a convoy in Kuwait. An explosion tragically ended her life during transport to the field hospital, marking a profound loss to her family, community, and nation. Specialist Cindy Marie Beaudoin rests in St. John’s the Apostle Church Cemetery, a solemn reminder of her sacrifice.
Cindy’s dedication and spirit were evident from her early days at college to her final moments on duty. Her deployment and the ultimate sacrifice she made underscore the selflessness and bravery of those who serve.
