Her journey took a pivotal turn when, during her first year at the University of Connecticut in 1990, she answered the call to serve in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield and the Gulf War with the 142nd Medical Company.

On February 28, 1991, tragedy struck as Cindy bravely sought to aid an injured soldier amidst a convoy in Kuwait. An explosion tragically ended her life during transport to the field hospital, marking a profound loss to her family, community, and nation. Specialist Cindy Marie Beaudoin rests in St. John’s the Apostle Church Cemetery, a solemn reminder of her sacrifice.
