Join us for our Second Annual poker run fka Jenn’s Remission Run supporting homeless and low income Veterans by providing 1300 Basic Needs kits to be distributed in September of 2024 to homeless and low income veterans in Connecticut. Additionally, this fundraiser provides benefits to Veterans at the Rocky Hill Veterans hospital.

Memorial Day Flags IN At State Veterans Cemetery
On Saturday, May 25, 2024, starting at 9:00am sharp at the CT. State Veterans Cemetery located on Bow Lane in Middletown, approximately 12,700 American Flags for Memorial Day will be placed to honor and show respect at the final resting place of those Veterans that are no longer with us who served our Country.
Retrieval of the Flags will be the following week, Saturday, June 1st at 9:00am weather permitting.
Veteran groups, Scout Troops, Youth Groups, Public, Community Organizations, and all that have assisted all these years in honoring and remembering those Veterans who served our Country are welcome to show their sacrifices are “NOT FORGOTTEN”.
Please come out and support our Veterans and say THANK YOU for all they have done.
Flags will be onsite and you do not need to register or call, just please show up by 9:00am on Saturday, May 25th, RAIN OR SHINE….
Memorial Day Ceremonies will be held at the Cemetery on May 27th at 2:00pm.
ALSO, donations will be collected for Wreaths Across America
Wreaths that will be placed in December. Last year we met our goal of Remembrance Wreaths that were available to be placed on the final resting place of those Veterans allowed to receive one.
The cost of purchasing a Wreath is $17.00 per Wreath. Donations collected will be used to purchase the buy two (2) and receive a third Wreath free.

Post 21 in conjunction with the Killingly Veterans Council and Danielson B.P.O.E. #1706 will celebrate Memorial Day on Monday May 27, 2024. The Parade will start at 1:00 pm from the St. James parking lot. It will proceed up Main Street to Davis Park for a Memorial Celebration.
Again, this year, B.P.O.E.#1706 will provide a Flatbed Truck for all Veterans to ride on in the parade.

This family-friendly event is a fundraiser honoring local Veterans. All proceeds raised will be donated to Milford’s Veterans groups: American Legion, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Vietnam Veterans of America, and Combat Motorcycle Veterans Association. We encourage all walkers and runners to join us.
Post-race snacks and fluids.
The 5k Run/Walk is bib chip-timed from the start & finish- you receive your ‘net’ time. Plenty of parking in nearby lots at The Milford Bank on the green.
A special race shirt will be guaranteed to the first 350 registered participants.
A free Kids, safe “Run For The Flag” Fun Run- a non-competitive, 200-yard scamper for kids 12 and younger only – weather permitting. The top three finishers will receive a flag and medal at the finish.
