What is it like to serve your country?
Please join us to hear from veterans about their experiences. Veterans of any era who served in any capacity are invited to stand before their community and speak for up to ten minutes. This event is non-political, and all perspectives are valued. There will be no question-and-answer period or debate on American foreign policy. Attendees will simply listen and learn about what it was like to serve in the wars that this nation has chosen to fight.Vets Town Halls were originated by author Sebastian Junger (War, Tribe) with the aim of increasing communication and understanding between veterans and civilians in their communities. For more information, visit vetstownhall.org.
The Vets Town Hall is free to attend, and snacks will be provided. To RSVP as an audience member, click here.
If you are a veteran who would like to speak at the event, click here to fill out a brief web form. You can learn more about the guidelines for speakers here, at the Vets Town Hall website. Calling All Veterans – Your Community Wants to Honor You
As we prepare for this year’s Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, November 11 at 11:00 AM at the Chester Town War Memorial, we are reaching out to all local veterans.
In recent years, veteran attendance has been lower than we’d hoped — and we’d truly hate to see that continue for such a meaningful event. Your presence is the heart of this tribute, and it means so much to the community that gathers to thank and honor you.
Muster time is 10:30 AM at the Apple Rehab parking lot. Whether you come in uniform, wear a cap, or simply show up, your participation makes all the difference.
Please join us — we’d be honored to have you.
