Maundy Thursday, observed during Holy Week on the Thursday before Easter, commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with his disciples. It is a day of reflection, humility, service, and community, emphasizing acts of giving and remembrance. These themes resonate strongly with Connecticut’s veteran community and the CVB network, where service, fellowship, and honoring sacrifice are central values.
This Maundy Thursday, 2 April 2026, the Connecticut Veterans Bulletin presents a preview of the upcoming Saturday, 4 April 2026 Veterans Calendar publication. Maundy Thursday, rooted in the tradition of the Last Supper, emphasizes service, reflection, and community—values that resonate deeply within the CVB network. Just as this day honors selflessness and remembrance, our veteran community comes together to support one another, strengthen connections, and celebrate both heritage and fellowship.
This week’s Thursday Preview highlights a variety of events designed to engage Connecticut veterans and their families. Featured programs include the VFW Post 149 Kid’s BINGO in Danbury, giving children a fun day while supporting local families; the 1st Anniversary of the WWII Museum & Pvt Joe Roman Tea & Jelly Donut Day in East Hartford, celebrating the museum’s legacy and honoring Pvt. Joseph Roman; and the Jewett City VFW Easter Brunch, where veterans and families gather for a festive meal and holiday celebration.
