The 21 March 2026 Edition of CVB’s Weekly Connecticut Veterans Calendar Publication, Honoring The First US Marine Four Star General, Alexander A Vandegrift, includes 50 events for CT Veterans remaining in March. Whereas Volume two Includes 136 events for CT Veterans beyond March. Volume three includes recurring CT Veterans events and programs.
The 21 March 2026 edition of CVB’s Weekly Connecticut Veterans Calendar honors the first United States Marine Corps officer to achieve the rank of four-star general, Alexander A. Vandegrift. Born on March 13, 1887, Vandegrift earned distinction for his leadership of the 1st Marine Division during the Guadalcanal campaign and later as the 18th Commandant of the Marine Corps. On 21 March 1945, the President authorized his promotion to four-star general, marking him as the first active-duty Marine to hold this rank, a historic milestone reflecting his extraordinary leadership and the growing prominence of the Marine Corps in World War II operations.
This edition consolidates events for Connecticut veterans across the state, including Volume One (current month events), Volume Two (future events April–September 2026), and Volume Three (recurring programs and Veteran-Owned Business directory).
