In this week’s Thursday Preview, we spotlight the latest additions to our Veterans Calendar for the upcoming Saturday, 23 May 2026 Edition. These events and programs are thoughtfully curated to support and engage Connecticut’s veteran community.
For a complete list of events and more details, please refer to the full Connecticut Veterans Calendar in our upcoming publication or though our previous publication doesn’t include the events here, it has the all others.
This Thursday Preview highlights 30 newly featured additions for the upcoming Saturday 23 May 2026 Memorial Day Edition of the Connecticut Veterans Bulletin. Leading the calendar are several holiday-specific events, including the American Legion Auxiliary Post 69 Memorial Day Breakfast, Odin’s Keep Axe House Veterans Social, and comprehensive parade schedules for Killingly and Westport. Beyond the holiday weekend, the listings extend deep into the 2026 season with major community events such as the 28th Annual Flag Day Run, the Irreverent Warriors Silkies Hike at Mohegan Sun, and multiple charity golf outings including the CTNGFI Annual Outing and the V.E.T.S. 2026 Golf Classic. Critical support services are also spotlighted, featuring the Ride For Our Vets legal fundraiser, Quilts of Valor Sew Days, and the 10th Anniversary Gala for the Veterans Strong Community Center. Together, these previews offer an essential look at the evolving landscape of support, camaraderie, and remembrance for Connecticut’s veteran community.

Saturday, June 13, 2026 9AM – 2PM
A Quilts of Valor Foundation Sew Day is a gathering where volunteers come together to create patriotic quilts that will eventually be awarded to service members and veterans touched by war. Participants may cut fabric, sew quilt tops, assemble backing, press seams, quilt layers together, or prepare binding and labels. Some people bring sewing machines and work stations, while others help with organization, ironing, pinning, or hand sewing.
