CVB’S Thursday 28 May 2026 Preview of Saturday’s Calendar Publication

Thursday, 28 May 2026 0500

The Connecticut Veterans Bulletin (CVB) has released its latest Thursday preview, offering a first look at the new event listings set to feature in the upcoming Saturday 30 May 2026 weekly calendar publication. As a dedicated calendar source and community publisher, CVB compiles these local programs to keep the state’s military and veteran community connected, informed, and engaged with local initiatives.
The upcoming weekly edition highlights a diverse array of community gatherings, patriotic ceremonies, and veteran support fundraisers scheduled throughout the summer and fall across Connecticut.

Golf Tournaments and Community Benefits

The calendar features several major recreational fundraisers aimed at supporting critical resource organizations. For example, on Monday 1 June 2026, the Nine & Shine Easterseals Inaugural Ladies 9 Hole Event will take place at the Hartford Golf Club in West Hartford, bringing together participants for a morning of golf, yoga, and an LPGA clinic to support programs empowering veterans and individuals with disabilities. Later in the season, on Wednesday 19 August 2026, the William A Soderman Annual Golf Tournament will kick off at the Wheeler Family Traditions Golf Club in Wallingford, raising funds directly for House of Heroes Connecticut.

Patriotic Ceremonies and Flag Day Observances

With June approaching, several local veteran posts are hosting dignified ceremonies to honor national traditions and provide respectful retirement for unserviceable American flags.

  • On Friday 12 June 2026, Paradiso Insurance will host its Annual Flag Day Ceremony at American Legion Post 26 in Stafford Springs, featuring a flag retirement ceremony alongside a tribute to seven local veterans.
  • On Sunday 14 June 2026, Water-Oak VFW Post 5157 will hold its Flag Day Retirement Ceremony in Watertown, inviting members of the community and fellow American Legion posts to participate.
  • Educational programs are also highlighted, such as the Wallingford Flag Day Celebration on Thursday 18 June 2026 at Wallingford Town Hall, where the Wallingford Elks Lodge #1365 will present an interactive look into the history and evolution of the flag.

Awareness Rides and Unique Fundraisers

The preview also highlights major regional and grassroots fundraising efforts. On Friday 5 June 2026, the Riding 22 States in 22 Days Veteran Suicide Awareness Benefit Ride makes its 15th nationwide state stop at Yankee Harley-Davidson in Bristol to raise awareness and funds for veterans facing mental health challenges.
For those looking for community gatherings later in the summer, the long-awaited Honor Ink 2026 Tattoo Flash For The Brave returns on Saturday 25 July 2026 at Copper Poppy Studio in North Franklin, where all proceeds from the event will benefit combat-wounded veterans through the Guardians of the Purple Heart.

Community Note: The Connecticut Veterans Bulletin provides these event listings strictly as a centralized information source and calendar publisher; CVB is not affiliated with the individual hosting venues or organizing entities. To view the complete list of newly added events and recurring community programs, look for the full Saturday 30 May 2026 calendar publication or subscribe for free at ctvetsbulletin.org to have each weekly volume delivered directly to your inbox.

For a complete list of events and more details, please refer to the full Connecticut Veterans Calendar in our upcoming publication or though our previous publication doesn’t include the events here, it has the all others.
