The United States Department of Defense formally identified two active-duty U.S. Army soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice while supporting Operation Inherent Resolve. 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of ‘Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, were killed in action during an enemy missile and drone attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.

Roots and Service

Hailing from the shores of ‘Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Tyler James Feehan grew up with a deep sense of community and commitment. Driven by a call to leadership, he chose a path of service and was commissioned as a U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery Officer in 2019.
As a first lieutenant, Feehan took immense pride in leading the air defenders under his command, earning a reputation among his superiors and peers for his steadfast dedication to the mission and his fellow soldiers. Leadership described him as an officer whose unwavering focus on core values left an enduring legacy within the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command.
In recognition of his valor and ultimate sacrifice, he is slated to be posthumously promoted to captain and awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, and the Combat Action Badge, joining previous honors that included the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. Hawaii leadership ordered flags across the state to be flown at half-staff in his honor, mourning the loss of a cherished ‘ohana member.

Isabella Gonzales was a proud product of Carrollton, Texas, where she graduated from Hebron High School. Eager to step out into the world and contribute on a global scale, she answered the call to military service immediately following her high school graduation—a decision school district officials noted spoke volumes about her exceptional character and bravery.
Stationed overseas in Germany with the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Pvt. Gonzales carried out her duties with quiet resolve, standing on the front lines of defense. At only 19 years old, her willingness to step up, wear the uniform, and deploy far from home earned her remembrance as a national hero by her hometown community. Her sudden loss sent shockwaves of grief through the Carrollton and Lewisville school districts, where teachers and administrators remembered her bright spirit and profound sense of duty.
